Harveen Sandhu

Programs Manager | harveen@genvironment.ca

Harveen’s love of storytelling and play led her to train as an actor at Ryerson Theatre School, after which she went on to perform professionally on many of the most prestigious stages in Canada such as the Shaw Festival, Soulpepper and Bard on the Beach, while keeping her childhood love of Nature alive throughout. Currently a graduate student pursuing a Masters of Education at the University of Ottawa, Harveen is committed to connecting young people to Nature through immersive and experiential environmental education, creative expression, the fine arts and Yoga. She is passionate about Indigenous sovereignty, climate justice, animal rights and holistic approaches to food production, nutrition, physical health and most especially, spiritual wellbeing for young people. Harveen has been playing piano for 20 years and loves to cook and garden (for the bees!) She is a regular Educator with the Ottawa Forest & Nature School and mentors young artists from across the country. She is absolutely thrilled and honoured to be a part of Genvironment and is greatly humbled by the super bright and talented youth and staff that she is privileged to learn from and work with!
